A FEW WORDS ABOUT US

Dr Hennie Liebenberg

I was born and raised in Port Elizabeth, where I attended both primary and high school, establishing a strong educational foundation in my hometown. Pursuing my passion for medicine, I moved to Stellenbosch University where I earned my medical degree. My dedication to child health led me to specialize in paediatrics, a field where I felt I could make a significant impact on young lives.

Following my medical training, I gained invaluable experience working in Pietermaritzburg and Tygerberg Hospital, two prominent healthcare centres in South Africa. My time in these hospitals allowed me to hone my skills in paediatric care, providing critical medical services to children and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive treatment.

Working in paediatric private healthcare in Bellville, my career is marked by a commitment to improving the lives of children in the greater Bellville area. I enjoy children’s complete honesty and enormous capacity for healing and forgiveness. As a paediatrician you become your patient’s advocate which is not only a big privilege but also a big responsibility, something I take great pride in.

Dr Wayne Hough

I was born and raised in the Eastern Cape but moved to the Western Cape during my primary school years. I studied medicine at Stellenbosch University and went on to gain working experience at Pietermaritzburg and in Springbok. During these years I developed a passion for working with children. This led to me to work as a medical officer in paediatrics at Tygerberg Hospital for a few years and eventually completing my specialization in the field of Paediatrics. I subsequently also obtained a MSc in Sports and Exercise medicine as I honestly believe that a healthy and active lifestyle is essential and should start at an early age. I also have a interest in working with adolescents and help with childhood neurodiversity and mental health where possible.

I decided to pursue a career in paediatrics because I love working with and helping children and their families. I am privileged to be able to make small interventions in their lives that can affect their futures, and their development, in big ways.
